Submission + - Buying a Watch Online (watcheshutau.com)

solianjunior6 writes: watch company will not honor this warranty unless the watch is bought from an authorized retailer. Some websites try to get around this by offering their own warranty, but there is no guarantee that they will still be in business if and when you need your watch serviced.
It can also be difficult to determine just from the website if the watches are real or fake, as anyone can take pictures from, for example, Patek Philippe’s site, so the images look just as good as everyone else’s.
Many websites selling watches are not authorized to sell the brands they are presenting. They manage to get stock from around the world and offer it themselves. Sometimes, they don’t even have the watch you are looking for, but they’ll try to find it for you once you express interest.
There is a real need to be cautious before purchasing online. Some watch brands don’t allow their watches to be sold online, so if you see any of these watches for sale on the web, they are unquestionably not authorized. Other brands have authorized retailers who are allowed to sell online, which will be mentioned on the sellers’ website.
