FRIENDLY PHONE CALL SERVICE

FRIENDLY PHONE CALL SERVICE

Senior isolation is one of the health risks seniors face. And it’s why ONE-TO-ONE connection is included with EVERY service we provide.

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 and social distancing guidelines, our seniors are missing the personal contact with our volunteers that keeps them smiling and connected. Research proves that senior isolation is a huge issue for seniors in general. For seniors living alone, the problem of senior isolation can actually affect their physical, mental and emotional well-being.

That’s why we’ve created our new, FRIENDLY PHONE CALL service which is a variation of our Friendly Visits And Assistance Service.

HOW THE FRIENDLY PHONE CALL SERVICE WORKS

Seniors who sign up for the Friendly Phone Call service receive phone calls each week from a volunteer. During these calls, the volunteer and the senior get to know each other, share stories and talk about whatever the senior would like to talk about. Over time, both seniors and volunteers look forward to this important connection time and enjoy the new friendship.

Seniors Love Receiving Phone Calls

  • They have human contact throughout the week
  • They have something to look forward to
  • They get to share their stories and memories with others
  • They are able to engage in conversation which stimulates their mind and lifts their spirits

Volunteers Love Making Phone Calls

  • Easy to make a difference in someone’s life
  • It is convenient to connect – many call seniors on their morning commute or lunch break
  • They get a glimpse of the past and learn new things
